Damn, it has been forever since I did a blog entry. Not that there has not been tons to talk about. Relax I am not going to try to recap the past. And I will try to do a better job keeping this thing up to date.

Lot s great things happening at work and on the freelance front. This is my busy time of year and I can smell InterBike around the corner.

Independence Day... My way

I hate fire works. I am not gushing with patriotism... maybe I will after W leaves. But this three-day weekend has been AWESOME. And I fully expect most people to not understand but here is the routine (I dream of this being the norm):

Up early... Ride 40-50 hard miles with some teammates (Hard 9 out around Belton)
Hot tub... collect emotions
Hang out with Sam (if she happens to be home)
Bang out some freelance or domestic stuff
Nap (usually with a beagle at my side)
25-mile recovery ride to keep from getting to sore or stiff. (Ward parkway.Brookside laps)
Hot tub
Eat... well
More Sam time
Sleep.... Rinse and repeat.

Wind, heat, and John feeling spunky equals me wicked retarded tired and sore. A few more weekends of this and I will be dangerous... or dead.

Good Job to Niki Smith on Saturday... she is getting strong and fast. Rob is a pussy who dodged the call to ride all weekend.

Another week of the same

First of all, kudos to Rob Willette. Rob is a lawyer at work and he is a newbie to cycling... I am afraid of this man and his will power. I have the edge on him with experience and conditioning, but for how long? He rides until he is burger. I love the infectious enthusiasm he has for cycling. Plus he suffers like a poet warrior.

Plenty of great rides since my last post. The biker-tan lines are getting more distinct and the tires more worn. The weather here in KC has really turned in our favor so we are taking advantage of it.

Cycling War Stories 06-22-08

Good weekend for riding here in KC. Saturday found me on a lovefest with what was supposed to be a Team Lockton ride but my friends comprised the pack. Tiffany Springs to Camden Point and back... easy 40....

Sunday was no such cake walk

John and I rode from Brookside out around Belton and back (The infamous "hard nine" and points beyond).... this was a leg cooking 40 miles. Lots of big ring work (according to my buddies I need to stop spinning such a "pussy gear" -thanks Rob- and use these big-assed legs I have to push a harder gear ratio). Great ride. John was not wanting to go as hard as me but we still dialed it up plenty... oh yeah the early morning rains caused us to be grimy bastards when we returned. Sweat, water, mud, bugs.... good stuff

10 am return... beers
Hose off
Hot tub
Food

5pm.. time for a 20-ish mile recovery ride (Ward parkway to the Plaza up Brookside boulevard... rinse and repeat) to keep the legs limber for another week of commuting to Overland park. Commuting would be a good topic for discussion as everyone would like to ride to work on a bike but most are afraid, lazy, or their employer does not facilitate it... that is another topic.

Welcome to my blog

Hello everyone,

I am on a new kick to really try to start networking and staying in touch with people, and a blog seems to be a good outlet for that... not to mention the cathartic benefit of writing about yourself.

So what can you expect? what topics will I profundicate about?
Bikes, Design, Work, More bikes, Music, yadda yadda yadda

Thanks for reading.
